Spring is Here

Yes, spring training is here and in full swing! Full squad workouts have not begun but everyone from the 40 man roster is here except Kelly (who just had a son). I am so excited for this year to start that the little coverage from spring training is making me drool. The two Davids together, hanging out, makes my heart feel something. David Price looks healthy and ready to go. I love his mentality of what he can get out of others to help him and what he can give to others to help them. He will be a big help to E-Rod and I expect an even better sophomore year from him with a guy like Price as his mentor. David Price is the best of both worlds. He can pitch well and is a great clubhouse guy. He's a team player and will do anything to win. I know he hasn't been great in the postseason so far but neither was the Big Unit for a while and look at him now in the HOF. Speaking of another David, Big Papi looks GREAT! He seems ready to have a monster year and is primed for another 30-100 season! Let's help one David win his first and another David win his last and go out on top, as he rightfully should.

The cat is out of the bag, Pablo Sandoval is FAT! He always will be and nothing is going to change. In fact, he hits better when he is on the heavier side. The weight is a factor especially when it comes to conditioning and playing defense but I trust our executives, who say that Panda did get in better shape and is more athletic. The real problem to the whole Panda saga is his media session and how he handled it all. To say that he has nothing to prove is pathetic. He came off of his worst year and he has everything to prove. He is already considered a bust in beantown and if he does not prove himself then it all goes down hill from there. He needs to motivated for himself to prove people wrong to have a great year. Yes, he wasn't given a specific amount of weight to lose but everyone knows that you had to lose some and to say that you didn't check the scale at all is just stupid. All of this talk about him will go away if he just PRODUCES. If he can hit, defend, and stay healthy, no one will care. Let's hope he can because he is two more strikes away from saying bye bye and hoping on a plane to Los Angeles. It seems like the Dodgers can just take all of our shitty players with ease when they have a payroll like that.

Hanley. Hanley. Hanley. If I say his name three times will he become a gold glove winning first baseman? Let's hope so. Hanley handled the media really well compared to the Panda even putting in some jokes like he will win the gold glove. If he was serious about then, then he needs to become more realistic. If he can not be one of the top worst defenders of the league, then that would be fine. Hanley has a great swing and will produce if healthy. The problem is defense. I think he will have NO problem with being a first baseman, he just needs to work hard. I think more than 30 minutes a day would be better than what he is doing now. Shaw should not be working out harder than he is because we all know Hanley is the starter. He needs to be motivated and I think he is somewhat motivated but only time will tell. I am praying to the Baseball Gods that two Red Sox free agent signings are not a bust like what happened with Crawford and Agon. Please, Please, Please!!!

April 4th can't get here sooner. Let's go #redsoxnation!
