The price was almost Wright

After two games in Toronto where the bats exploded, the bats barely fizzled today. Marco Estrada had the Red Sox numbers this game. He went 7 IP with 5 H 0 R 0 ER 2 BB 8 SO. He was dominate, something Stroman and Dickey were not. He had a nasty change up and a great fastball and the Red Sox just didn't figure him out. The Blue Jays bullpen did not fail today (surprisingly) and Estrada got the win.

Wright was the other storyline. He looked more like the number two starter today than Price, Kelly, and Porcello ever did. That's how bad our rotation is. Wright pitched great. He had a rough first inning with a passed ball and rare error by Pedey which ended up scoring two runs after a ground out. He has gone longer than any of our starters so far including Price, with over 110 pitches. He finished the day with 6.2 IP 6 H 2 R 1 ER 3 BB 5 SO. Let's hope he continues his hot streak!

The bats just couldn't wake up today. Mookie was 0-4 making him 1 of his last 19 with 7 strikeouts. He got off to a slow start last year so let's hope the results are the same this year. Get out of the slump Mookie, you're too good for this! All the other Red Sox hitters were either hitless or only got one hit off of Estrada, expect for Hanley. Hanley had another great day at the plate. He was 3-4 giving him a .455 average to start the season. He has his timing back and could be the best Red Sox hitter this year. He also continued his aggressive base running style by stretching a single into a double.

Time for the Red Sox to start a 10 game home stand all against the AL East. Now is there time to catch some games off of the East and show there worthiness as a top team there. Price kicks off the home stand with the Fenway Opening Day start!

Final: Blue Jays 3 - Red Sox 0
