May Clay is Bae

So far May has got off to a great start for Clay Buchholz. It's a great confidence booster for him and let's keep it going. I know from the beginning all Red Sox fans believed in him and truly thought the best of his skills. That's the problem with a guy like Clay. We give him so much shit because he is so fucking streaky. He is due for a prolonged DL stint in a few weeks and then could come back and pitch a no no. He's unpredictable. He's not a guy like Porcello who is reliable for a 3.00 era and 6 innings each game. Clay could be dealing and then one bad pitch and bam he lost the game (just like in Houston). I gotta give credit where credit is due. His stat line was 7 innings pitched with 3 hits, 2 earned runs, 2 walks, and 6 strikeouts. Props to you Clay Buchholz on getting your first win and having a great game. May the 4th (and the whole month) be with (and good for) you.

I think the world is ending because we saw a Clay Buchholz win and Chris Young hit all in the same game. Chris Young has been terrible for us so far and hasn't hit well against anyone, lefty or righty. The Sox are now 1-7 in a game where Chris Young has started. He's hitting .167 on the season going 5/30. He's known to be a lefty stud but only hitting .231 off of them. That's not good enough if he's our lefty specialist. Farrell needs to sit him down and play Holt. Holt has hit against lefties really damn well in his career with a .358 average. Please make it happen Farrell.

There is no way to avoid playing Young because he's our only bench outfielder. When we do double switches, pitch hits, or rest a guy, he's the one to go. This is the time where having a utility guy like Holt starting really hurts us. We can't be as flexible with our roster/team. I think we should call up Rusney Castillo and give him a shot at starting in left. He's been doing better in triple A and we need a stronger bench. Holt, who can play anywhere, and Young, who says he can play against lefties, would both strengthen our bench. We can send down Layne. Make the move dealing Dave. We trust you.

JBJ also continues his now 10 game hitting streak with a single. Rutledge stays hot in his limited at bats going 2-3 with an rbi and walk. I really like Rutledge. He's hitting .462. He does not get a lot of at bats but he makes every at bat count. He has the grit and grind of a Red Sox player. He never gives up and always puts in a good at bat. Gotta give credit to Chili Davis. He's got our offense really working hard and focusing on not wasting any at bat. He especially emphasizes 2 out hitting and it's shown in all our stats. We lead every offensive category in the AL expect home runs.

Big Papi continues his hot streak with another home run today to give the Sox the lead. He has now tied Gary Sheffield on the MLB all-time home run list with 509 and Manny Ramirez on the MLB all-time XBH life with 1,122. If these stats don't scream HOFer plus his 3 championships and 9 seasons of 30/100, then you are fucking crazy. I'll take Papi's side any time of the day. See you in Cooperstown.

Final: Red Sox 5 - White Sox 2.
