Another quality start for Steven Wright and another loss. A moment like this makes me join the kill the win movement. Wright pitched 6 innings with 6 hits, 2 runs, 2 earned runs, 0 walks (that's impressive for a knuckleballer), and 6 strikeouts and still got the loss. If we just could've provided some offense then he would not be 0-2. It was hard to provide offense when Aaron Sanchez was on his game. He had 4 no hit innings and went 7 full innings with 2 hits, 1 run, 1 earned run, 4 walks, and 7 strikeouts. He was great and looked like the same night where Estrada was pitching when we just couldn't hit anything.
The newest Red Sox call up and rookie, Marco Hernandez, started his career off with a bang. He continued his hot spring training and recorded his first hit, stolen base, and run in the majors. He got a single and then stole second and with the throwing error by Martin, he took third. He showed great heads up base running and can be a spark plug to this offense. He's a hard worker and shows the same grit and grind like Dustin Pedroia, the same player he took his spot from today. I'm excited to watch him play when he gets the chance to.
The Mayor of Ding Dong City got his first of many ding dongs. It was the ninth inning and the Sox were down 5-1. Hanley Ramirez was on first with a single and then the Mayor went bang! It was a bullet shot to right field that creeped over the wall. Bautista almost had it.
Final: Blue Jays 5 - Red Sox 3
